Program Manager

We are looking for a full-time Program Manager to implement, oversee and supervise the operation of an exciting pilot program that provides a range of non-clinical peer-to-peer supports to adults who have opioid use disorder and self-identify as being in recovery, and to their families. It’s well known that peer recovery supports in the community can expand the reach of treatment programs and create a social network that meaningfully supports recovery. This new program takes peer recovery support a step further: it provides peer support to family members of adults with Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) who are in recovery, helping family members to understand and manage their own experience in a way that also supports their loved one’s recovery. The Program Manager will be responsible for the implementation of program services, including supervision of seven staff members; will coordinate with a referral network of drug and alcohol treatment providers across Allegheny County; will organize and direct the program’s outreach activities; will be the primary point of contact with the program’s funder; will oversee and manage data collection; and will be responsible for grant management and reporting.   • Bachelor’s Degree with three years’ supervision experience in a related human services field and/or general administration is required. Master’s Degree in social work or related field, with at least one year of experience in mental health/drug and alcohol treatment, is preferred.
  • Must have experience with, and/or a clear understanding of, the peer support role—and the ability to ensure that staff exhibit the skills and qualities needed to be effective in that role.
  • Lived experience of OUD, or the OUD of a family member, is preferred but not required.
  • CRS and/or CFRS Certification through the Pennsylvania Certification Board is preferred but not required. Past experience providing peer support individually and/or in groups preferred.
  • Knowledge of the drug and alcohol treatment continuum of care and the ability to develop and sustain relationships with treatment providers.
  • Knowledge of local resources that may help to meet clients’ needs and support their quality of life
  • Schedule is generally during weekday office hours but must be able and willing to work evenings and weekends as required.
  • Valid driver’s license and full-time use of an insured vehicle, as some local travel is required.
