Food Service Coordinator
Description: The PROGRAM for Offenders, a transitional residential living treatment facility in Pittsburgh, has an opening for a Food Service Coordinator. This position plays a major role in our clients' successful recovery and reentry by providing healthy, nutritious meals and structured tasks that aid in recovery.
The Food Service Coordinator is responsible for planning menus, ordering ingredients and supplies, and preparing and serving meals and snacks for up to approximately 50 clients. In addition, the Coordinator will accept, document, and store all provisions, maintain equipment by performing regular cleaning, follow operating instructions, and report needs for repair.
Job Type: Full Time with benefits
- Must have current Allegheny County Food Safety Manager Certification
- Proven knowledge of and experience with sanitation methods in cleaning and caring for kitchen equipment as well as health department guidelines regarding safe food preparation, serving, and storage.
- Proficiency in basic kitchen math, common weights, and measures ingredient substitutions, determining proportions with a minimum of waste, and operating within a budget.
